You can’t willpower your way to wellness.

Cuddle up into something cozy and let me pour you some tea… it’s time for a chat.

The road to better health is not about adhering to a number or a regimen.

It’s not something you can check off the list if you just try hard enough.

It doesn’t make you a failure when – not if – you experience a setback or cave into a craving.

And it definitely isn’t something you should go through alone.

Trust me, I know. I tried… for years.

By the time I was 19 years old I had been diagnosed with depression, anxiety and panic attacks, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and an eating disorder.

I was snowed under by the challenges I faced, unsure of the road forward, and completely alone and isolated. Worse still, I felt like my story wasn’t my own.

It took a long and winding path for me to discover the purpose in my own story.

But once I discovered that sense of purpose, it gave me the vision and strength to slowly but surely overcome the challenges I faced, regain control of my health, and replace surviving with truly thriving.

Because the truth is: the only way to create lasting change is to see your health as a journey and not a destination.

It’s not enough to want to feel better. You’ll need a clear sense of purpose, a strategy that works for you, and a whole lot of grit as you build new routines and take daily action towards your goals.

AND – it’s something you shouldn’t be doing alone.

As a JourNey Coach, my job is to empower you to make courageous, consistent change in your journey towards a balanced and integrated approach to your health.

My strengths-based, integrative approach to wellness is designed to help you develop a clear but flexible approach to achieving your health goals — and then walk with you every step of the way as you take action towards change in body, mind, and spirit.

That involves four main things:

Connection

First we connect with your purpose and the deep-rooted “why” that will keep you moving forward. Then we connect your action plan across body, mind, and spirit, making sure that you are caring for every part of who you are. Together, this forms the foundation for your personal wellness journey.

Education

I’ll help you understand the science behind what’s happening in your brain and body and why we do the things we do. You’ll learn how to move forward using proven treatment approaches and best practices, and I’ll share tips, tricks and tactics for making change that are anchored in research and scientific rigour.

Accountability

Any fitness trainer or athletic coach knows that growth happens slowly, consistently, over time. The same is true for your wellness journey. I help you build a realistic, flexible strategy that will move you towards change – and then encourage and challenge you to stick with it as you take action.

Companionship

The journey towards better health can often feel lonely. Once you leave the therapist’s couch or doctor’s office, you’re on your own when it comes to implementing the treatment plan they’ve provided. And if you don’t have access to a therapist or medical practitioner, or if your other support systems are less than supportive, you’re even more isolated. I walk with you in the moments between appointments and the “I can’t do this” emergencies so that you never feel alone.

If you’re ready to step onto the road towards better health in body, mind, and spirit, I’d love to join you on the journey.

Hi! I’m SabriNa Lemay, a registered holistic nutritionist, jourNey coach, and mental health advocate passionate about helping my clients to navigate the ups and downs of their journey towards better health and change their well-being for good.

My own health journey has been a long road: As an adolescent, I struggled with depression, an eating disorder that almost defeated me to anxiety, and “Pure O” OCD. I faced homelessness and worked multiple jobs to just get by.

Driven by a desire to overcome my own challenges and turn them into an opportunity to help other people, I graduated from not just one but three challenging post-secondary programs. I found my way into professional event planning, then added yoga and reiki certification as well as holistic nutrition to my credentials.

That combination of hard-won personal experience and formal training is infused into all of my work. For over a decade, I have worked tirelessly to get people speaking about mental health and how to overcome barriers, speaking at elementary and middle schools, the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Foundation and on podcasts. I also teach yoga and provide 1:1 coaching to clients seeking to make a change in their own health journey. And let’s be real: caring for my own mental health continues to be a top priority, and it’s a big part of my day to day life. I’ll tell you from experience that this is a journey for me too – one that I navigate every day.

I’ll also be the first one to tell you that there’s so much more to life than your work and or a fancy bio on a website. The behind-the-scenes of my life is all about my handsome husband Jesse, our pups Pringle  and Scky, and the real king of the house, our cat Aura. My beautiful day-to-day involves a crazy 4am wake-up routine (that I’d never trade), lots of reading and writing, hosting dinner parties and year-round campfires with friends – always with music or a motivating podcast turned up loud in the background. Nothing energises me more than a long hike in the gorgeous Canadian woods just outside my back door.

But hang on…. What’s a JourNey Coach? And what’s with that capital N in the middle?

I created the term JourNey Coach to describe the way I work with my clients: an action-oriented guide and companion who walks with you on the road towards better health in body, mind, and spirit.

Because here’s the simple truth:

As much as we wish the path towards better health was a smooth, straight line, that’s not usually how it goes. The journey towards better health looks more like an “N” — it curves up, bumps down, and then moves up and forward again.

I use my training and experience to create a customized, integrated, adaptable wellness strategy that responds uniquely to your needs and empowers you to take consistent action. And I stay by your side through it all, cheering you through the highs and encouraging you through the lows.

The journey to better health is a hard but rewarding one — and as your JourNey Coach, I’m here to make sure you’re not doing it alone.

Ready to take the next step in your own wellness jourNey? Let’s do it together.
